As you may have seen, the CDC recently released updated guidelines for fully vaccinated individuals, effectively eliminating their need for masks and social distancing. People are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine. We want to communicate how this update will impact gatherings at Harrell Funeral Home.
Masks are welcomed and encouraged moving forward at funeral services for fully vaccinated individuals but no longer required. However, if you are not vaccinated, we ask that you please continue to wear a mask. We will not require proof of vaccination to enter our facilities. With this new guidance, our services will now include a mix of masked and unmasked individuals, so please be respectful of the new guidelines.
Although this update represents a substantial shift in our community regarding herd immunity, we are still serving families who are losing loved one’s to COVID. Therefore, we want to move forward respectfully, and optimistically cautious.
People only get one chance to say goodbye, and everyone deserves that opportunity. We will continue to provide seating in a designated section that is socially distanced and set apart for individuals who still need to take extra precautions. We desire to provide a safe and comfortable place for everyone to gather.
A no mask environment is a new reality that will take some time to adjust. Thank you for your cooperation and extending a spirit of grace as we transition to this new normal.
