Obituary
Born in the Jackson Heights neighborhood of Queens, NY in 1933, he was the sixth child of John Joseph and Mary Smith Lynch. He attended the Blessed Sacrament Elementary School in Jackson Heights.
Frank graduated from Regis High School in 1951 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Labor Relations from Manhattan College in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army for two years, arriving in Korea just after the armistice. He then started work at Metropolitan Life as a management trainee where he contributed for 46 years. In the 80's and 90's Frank worked in Tokyo and Seoul, starting international joint ventures for MetLife. He retired in 2001 as a Senior Vice President.
Mr. Lynch and his wife Margaret (married 58 years), moved to Naples, FL after his retirement, where he played bridge and attained the rank of Life Master. He and Margaret moved to Austin recently to be nearer to family.
Special thanks to the Halcyon Hospice care team (especially Michelle and Thomas), who went above and beyond to care for Mr. Lynch.
Frank is survived by his wife and their three sons. Frank Jr. lives in San Diego with his wife Robin and son John. Eugene resides in Vietnam with his wife Liang. Christopher and his wife Colleen live in Austin with their children Eva and Brendan. He was known as Uncle Fran to over 30 nieces and nephews, who fondly remember him for his warmth and wise counsel.
Relatives and friends in the Austin area are invited to Frank's funeral mass. It will be held Wednesday, November 18th at the St. John Neumann Catholic Church at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Frank's name may be made to the Catholic Charities of Central Texas, 1625 Rutherford Lane, Austin, TX 78754 (https://www.ccctx.org/donate/).
