Obituary

It is with a broken heart and tear-filled eyes that we announce the passing of Charles "Chuck" Martin Turner, our beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend.

He was born in Perrysville, IN., the 2nd son and 4th child to the late Dana Herman Turner and Audrey Geneva Turner.

Master Sergeant Turner was predeceased by his wife of 36 years, Barbara Ann Turner. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Margaret Ballard, Dean Turner and Russell L. Turner of Indiana, by his Uncle Robert Boswell of Pasadena, TX and by his stepson, Keith Conley of Valdosta, GA.

Chuck is survived by his children, Charlene Kaye Turner, Richard Lee Turner of Woodstock, GA., and Charles Michael Turner of Kyle, TX., by his granddaughter, Kaitlynn Ariel Turner of San Marcos, TX., by his stepson, Gary Conley of Valdosta, GA., by his grandsons, Cameron and Colby Conley of Valdosta, GA., and by his siblings, Helen Thomas, Thelma Roth and Bonnie Turner-O'Neill of Indianapolis, IN., as well as his many nieces and nephews.

Chuck was a 20-year veteran of the United States Air Force where he served as a bomb technician. In 1961, he was stationed at Carswell Air Force Base in Ft. Worth, Texas. He fell in love with Texas and decided that he wanted to retire there. In 1972, he was stationed at Bergstrom Air Force Base- it was then that he decided to retire and make a home in Austin, TX. He established a farm there and spent many of his final years doing what he loved most- enjoying the Texas hill country with his family.

We will never forget the overwhelming warmth and kindness that Charles Martin Turner exuded and the light he brought to all of our lives. Please know that he was a HUGE Longhorn fan- a season ticket holder every year with his best friend, Danny Diaz of Austin, TX. Let us all send him to his glory with a big Hook 'Em Horns!
