Becky and Glenn Armbruster May 29, 2020

We did not know John well, but he must have been an inspiring and nurturing dad to have helped raise such a wonderful young man as his son Barrett, who is one of our son CJ's longest-standing and closest friends. All our love and synpathy to John's family, Becky and Glenn Armbruster

John was such a treasure .... he was a great mentor while at Texas Commerce Bank. I was his loan assistant and when I had moved on to another area, he always said "remember to dance with who brung you"! Carol, you were the light of his life and he couldn't wait for Barrett's arrival. John was such a wonderful person and will truly be missed! Sharon Malone Waits

I was a new student to Westlake in 1973 as a seventh grader the day I met Pancho. When I walked into the classroom before the first class started, he was sitting on a desk with the early arrivals around him. He captivated the group as he told his stories of what he did that summer. Pancho’s easy charm and natural charisma drew people to him. I will always remember him that way. I’m lucky he was my friend.

I am so sad to hear this news. I remember Pancho and the whole McPhaul family from the days of my family's restuarant Rogers on Bee Cave Rd next to Eanes. I know John is in heaven now with my brother and parents. He was very special and will be missed.I am so sorry for your loss. Beverly Rogers Conner

My Man PANCHO! Love you like a brother and was honored to bully your amazing wife’s initial boyfriend in high school to clear the path for your charm, movie star looks, and amazing personality, that convinced Carol to fall in love with you and live with you happily ever after! Most all of us would say you were our most genuine and sincere friend at WHS. Rest in peace my/our friend, Heaven just got that much more inviting with you waiting for us!
